Coral Sports is part of LC International Limited, a subsidiary of Entain. Its sister sites include some of the country’s best poker rooms, bingo rooms, sportsbooks, and casinos. But does Coral Sports deserve to be mentioned in the same breath? Does it do for sports betting what Foxy Bingo has done for bingo?

Check out the following Coral Sports review to find out.

Welcome Bonuses

Coral Sports has a minimum deposit £5, and you can collect the welcome bonus when you deposit this amount. You must also wager that money on odds of at least 1.50 (1/2). Once you meet this requirement, you’ll receive a free bet worth £20.

To use this free bet token, just add something to your bet slip, click the “free bet” option, and then confirm.

You don’t have to use it straight away, but it must be used within 7 days and needs to be wagered in full. Also, as always, you won’t receive any of the free bet money back if you win. So, if you wager the £20 free bet on an Evens bet and win, you’ll only get £20.

You also can’t cash out the free bet, so you need to wait for the final outcome.

In addition to this welcome promotion, Coral Sports has a bunch of other promotions targeted toward loyal players. There are free bets, reload promotions, bet refunds, and more.

Keep an eye on the promotions page to catch them as soon as they appear.

Software and Betting Options

The layout of Coral Sports reminds me of BetVictor. It’s not too busy, it’s very easy to find what you’re looking for, and you’re bombarded with graphics, promotions, and other distractions. It’s streamlined and beginner-friendly, and that will appeal to a lot of casual gamblers.

I personally prefer a stat-heavy site with lots of live scores and livestreams, but I can’t deny that this layout looks good as well.

Coral Sports has multiple sports, lots of events, and a wide selection of bets. There are also some very competitive odds and interesting special bets.

You can watch livestreams if you have an account and there are many options available at any given time, with tennis, basketball, and horse racing seeming to get most of the attention.

The “Bet Bundles” feature is interesting as well. It gives you a series of bet tokens for a fixed price, many of which are available on single games or events. It’s a nice touch, and I don’t recall seeing anything like it on other popular betting sites.

In terms of bets that Coral Sports does really well, it has a great selection of esports markets, and I also like its snookers bets. As expected, the horse racing betting options are fantastic as well. You’ll also find many bonuses that cater exclusively to horse racing punters, as well as a Coral Racing Club that comes with a number of perks and prizes.

Customer Support

I am a calm and reasonable man. But that changes when faced with bad customer service and/or perceived injustice. If both of those things happen at once, I become a different person. A ranting, moaning, angry—I basically become my father, a man who was the blueprint for Victor Meldrew.

A few years ago, I joined Coral Sports and had an issue. I can’t remember what it was. I’m not the sort of person who makes a mistake with a bonus and then demands to receive the money anyway, so I know it wasn’t that. As I said, I am reasonable. To an extent.

Whatever it was, the customer support team was incredibly unhelpful and unprofessional.

The issue wasn’t resolved, they continued to be annoying, so I cashed out and quit. As a departing gesture, I asked them to close my account, and when they wouldn’t/couldn’t, I self-excluded.

I’m not sure why. I mean, I could have just not logged in. But I was trying to make a point.

As a result, I was automatically excluded from all sites in the same network. And there are a lot. I was active on most of them. One of them was a favourite of mine.

So, what’s the takeaway from this? Firstly, don’t try to “get back” at a gambling site. They don’t care and it won’t work. Secondly, Coral Sports doesn’t have the best support, at least not in my experience.

I’m not the only one who thinks that. At the time of writing, the site has 90% 1-star reviews on Trustpilot, with many pointing to its customer support.

These reviews don’t always tell the whole story, as most players only review when they have something bad to say (they are also trying to “get back” at the site, and they’re doing a better job than I did). But for a verified account that actively responds to reviewers, it has a very low rating.

I have to give them credit for actually responding though. Also, they have made some big improvements over the last year or two, so maybe that will change.

Verdict: Coral Sports Review

Coral Sports is a well-known and respected UK betting brand, but I don’t think anyone is putting this site ahead of bet365, William Hill, and other big operators. It’s decent, and if you need a new sportsbook and bonus, it’s worth a look. But I think there are better options if you need something more long term.
