BetVictor

BetVictor is one of the biggest players in the UK betting market. It’s also a pioneer of sorts. The brand that was formerly known as Victor Chandler (and then “VC Bet”) was one of the first to move offshore. It was also one of the first UK brands to tap into the Asian market.

I have been a member of BetVictor since the early days and have used the site throughout much of that time. It hasn’t always been kind to me, but it’s remained one of the most frequently used sportsbooks. In this review, I’ll revisit it with a critical eye and see how it stacks up to the competition.

Welcome Bonuses

At the time of writing, BetVictor actually has two welcome bonuses. One of these is temporary and will likely be gone by the time you read this review. The other is more fixed and just as generous.

It offers up to £40 in free bets when you deposit £10+, opt-in, and then wager at least £10 on odds of 2.00 (Evens) or greater.

The welcome bonus is released as three £10 bet tokens and a £10 casino credit to use on the slot machines. The free bet tokens are tied to specific events (although you have a pretty broad selection) and the slot credits have a 20x wagering requirement with a £250 max win.

There are a few caveats, though. Firstly, you must wager £10 or more on a single bet and it must be your first bet. So, you can deposit £50, wager £10 on a single bet of 2.00 or greater and then wager the rest as you please. But if you deposit £50, wager £1 on a multiple, and then throw the rest on a single bet, you won’t get the bonus.

The welcome bonus is only available for players depositing with debit cards, which means no PayPal.

It’s not the first time that this web wallet has been excluded and it won’t be the last, so keep this in mind.

Loyalty Offers

BetVictor has lots of loyalty promotions to keep its players busy. It has a free bet club where you can unlock bet tokens by making certain wagers. There are also regular horse racing offers, football ACCA refunds, and more.

Check the promotions section to see what’s available before you deposit and play (after you have cleared your welcome bonus, as you can’t have multiple offers active at once). This will ensure you don’t miss out, as most bonuses only activate when you opt in.

Software and Games

BetVictor has live betting options and cash outs, but they are not as good as the ones you can find elsewhere.

One of the things I love about bet365 is that I can cash out on most of the bets that I place. It doesn’t matter whether I’m betting on football, snooker, rugby, or esports—it lets me cash out on all of them. What’s more, the cash out option is only suspended during key moments and rarely stays that way for longer than a few seconds.

You don’t get this with BetVictor and it’s missing on many other betting sites as well.

As far as the betting options are concerned, it’s easy to place singles and multiples and it’s also easy to keep track of all active wagers.

I also really like the BetVictor Bet Builder and would put it up there with the one found on bet365. Some of the areas where BetVictor beats bet365 include its Pre-Built Picks, whereby you choose Bet Builder selections that have already been created.

There are also Bet Boosts. These bets pick two or three bets, add them together, and then increase the odds.

For instance, at the time of writing, there is a bet for Team A to Win, Both Teams to Score, and Over 3.5 Goals. It offers odds of 14/1 and can be placed with a single click. I tried building the same bet using the Bet Builder and was given odds of 12/1.

To give you an idea of how good that boost is compared to other betting sites, bet365 gave me odds of 11/1 for the same wager while William Hill gave me 9/1.

I didn’t cherry-pick these sites. They were just the first two that I thought of, and two of the most popular when it comes to Bet Builders.

That brings me to my second point, which is that BetVictor has some fantastic odds on multiples, prop bets, and combination bets. Even if you take bet boost out of the equation, it’s still better than two of its biggest competitors. 

Banking Options

BetVictor has a minimum deposit of £10 and it accepts PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, and Maestro. If you have an issue with this process, click the “Live Chat” link at the bottom of the cashier window to connect with a support agent. They are usually very fast and helpful.

Withdrawals have a minimum requirement of £10 and are processed instantly.

Verdict: BetVictor Review

In a previous review of bet365, I spoke about my experience with betting sites and noted that I had played dozens (if not hundreds) of sites but tend to use just 5 or 6 on a regular basis.

BetVictor is one of those sites. 

It is not as big as bet365, the customer support isn’t as good as 32Red, and I personally prefer the betting options on William Hill to 99% of other sites out there.

So, why bother with BetVictor?

Well, for one thing, the withdrawals are faster than all of those sites. I have also never had a bet settle incorrectly on BetVictor. The site is also streamlined, easy to use, and very welcoming.

It’s reliable and easy to use. Those two features alone are worth adding BetVictor to your regular cycle.
