I have been a member of Betway sportsbook for a number of years and use it every now and then. In the following review, I’ll highlight the things that keep me coming back despite the industry being incredibly saturated, as well as the reasons why it’s not my number 1.
There are a couple of different welcome bonuses on Betway. The first of these gives you a free bet if you deposit at least £5 and place a losing accumulator on football or horse racing. It’s an interesting bonus, but it’s pretty restrictive, so it won’t be for everyone.
Alternatively, there is a free £10 bet that will appeal to more players. This new player bonus can be used on all sports and requires a deposit of at least £10. It’s a matched deposit bonus, but it’s fixed at £10, so you won’t get any more than that regardless of how much you deposit.
The free bet must be used on odds of 1.75 or more and there is a 1x wagering requirement.
Betway has regular free bet bonuses and is actually one of the better sportsbooks in this department. Many of these offers are seasonal or event-based, such as Wimbledon and Premier League promotions that give you weekly free bets when you wager fixed amounts.
You don’t even have to wager that much money to collect these bonuses, and they are a great way to pick up some extra freebies.
There are also bet boosts and profit boosts, as well as occasional giveaways and other offers. If you venture over to Betway Casino, you’ll find even more, but it should be noted that these don’t apply to the sportsbook.
Software and Betting Options
In the past, I have praised sportsbooks and casinos for offering a dynamic website. This is important for me, as I often play on reduced-sized windows so that I can use dual screen mode for work. Betway doesn’t do this, and it’s incredibly frustrating.
At the time of writing, I’m looking at half of the Betway homepage and have been forced to switch to full screen to see everything. I can’t even see the login section like this. It’s not a huge issue, but it’s one that shouldn’t exist on a modern online sportsbook.
The mobile software is better, thankfully, but you may face similar issues if you access it through your mobile browser as opposed to the Betway app.
These minor issues aside, the Betway site is very neatly laid out. It uses a black-and-white layout, but it’s not tough on the eyes and it’s easy to find what you’re looking for. The minimal aesthetic could lead you to believe that it’s a compact site with few betting markets, but that’s simply not the case.
There are in-play betting options, Betway Boosts (which pick random bets and offer improved odds), and cash outs. It doesn’t offer much in the streaming department, but it has some great real-time statistics and updates. For this reason, Betway is one of the sites I use when I can’t watch/stream a game and need to stay up to date with the results.
Trust me, it’s way more effective than using news sites, as the updates are instant.
Customer Support and Personal Experience
To contact the customer support team at Betway, click the little arrow on your name and scroll down to “Help”. This will take you to an FAQ that contains a wealth of helpful information. If you scroll down to “I Have Another Query” and then click “Yes” when prompted, a contact link will appear.
Click this link to activate Live Chat if you need help that the FAQ can’t provide. There is no email address or phone number, just live chat.
Deposits and Withdrawals
Betway accepts PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, Neteller, Skrill, and bank transfers. There is a minimum deposit of just £5 and there are no fees for deposits are withdrawals.
Speaking of withdrawals, they are usually processed in just 24 hours, so the money should be in your account without much delay.
Verdict: Betway Review
Despite reviewing hundreds of sportsbooks and joining dozens of them as a player, there are only about 5 that I use consistently. Betway is one of them. It’s a trusted site that delivers fast payments, good customer service, and a good selection of betting markets. There are also more loyalty bonuses here than you’ll find on many other sportsbooks.
The reason it’s not my number 1 is that the betting markets aren’t as diverse as other top betting sites. What’s more, you can’t cash out on all of your bets like you can on bet365 and it’s much weaker in the streaming, stats, and visual department as well.
Generally speaking, Betway is a fantastic online sportsbook that’s better than 95% of other sites out there. It’s not the best, at least not in my opinion, but the bar is pretty high and it’s not too far off.
If you join the Betway sportsbook, you can access the live casino and Vegas sections of the site. However, you can only collect the casino welcome bonus if you are a new player, and if you have already joined the sportsbook and collected the sports bonus, you won’t be a new player.
